Is today a stay-home day?

Check the waiting period, see when to reassess, and use the public-health guidance for your centre.

Start with how your child feels.

Choose the answers that fit. No names, dates of birth or medical history are needed. Your selections are not saved or sent.

Severe trouble breathing, blue lips, collapse or difficulty waking?

Call 911 now. For other medical concerns, contact a clinician or Health811. A fever in a baby younger than three months needs urgent medical assessment.

How the timeline works

Vomiting or diarrhea: count at least 48 hours from the last episode. Respiratory symptoms: look for at least 24 hours of improvement and no fever without fever-reducing medicine. A new episode restarts the wait.

Specific infections, outbreaks and centre directions can change what applies. A result here never approves attendance. Sources checked 12 September 2026.
